Brigadier General Mark A. Goodwill

Brig. Gen. Mark A. Goodwill is the Director, Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, Pennsylvania National Guard. He leads the integration of strategic and joint staff issues for over 13,000 Soldiers and 4,100 Airmen of the Pennsylvania National Guard. He leads the administration, coordination, planning, development, and execution of all Joint Staff programs that prepare the state for contingency operations in either a federal or state emergency to include man-made or natural disasters, and federal mobilizations.

He received his commission from the Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Pennsylvania State University in 1987. General Goodwill completed specialized undergraduate navigator training at Mather Air Force Base, California in 1988. His first operational assignment was as a KC-135R navigator, assigned to the 91st Air Refueling Squadron, Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Since joining the Air National Guard in 1991, General Goodwill's assignments include command at the Squadron, Group, and Wing levels.

General Goodwill is a Master Navigator with other specialties in maintenance and logistics. He has flown combat missions in Operations DESERT STORM, NORTHERN WATCH, and ALLIED FORCE. Prior to assuming his current position, General Goodwill served as the Assistant Adjutant General-Air of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa.
